Phalaharini Kali Puja was performed in the Temple of Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna on Wednesday, the 1st June 2011.   This day is very significant in the sense that Kali Ma is worshipped as “Karma phala harini”.   On this day in the 19th century, i.e., on 25th May 1893, Sri Ramakrishna performed Shodasi Puja during which he invoked Mother Shodasi in the person of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi and surrendered all the fruits of his sadhana at her feet.   During this puja, no image or photo of Mother Kali is kept in the sanctum sanctorum  as it signifies that Mother Kali is invoked in Sri Ramakrishna

On this occasion, flowers worth Rs. 1930/- were purchased for puja and decoration of the garbha mandir. The Puja began at 7.55 p.m. after the evening arati on 1st June 2011 and Swami Tattwatitanandaji Maharaj (Manavendra Maharaj) assisted by 2-3 volunteers performed the puja.   During the puja, devotional songs were rendered by Shri Champak Chatterjee, Shri Chandra Nath Mukherjee,  Br. Abhayesh Maharaj of the Delhi Ashrama and Br. Tanmoy Maharaj from Purulia Ashrama. The Temple hall was completely filled up with devotees (400 in number) till the puja which ended at 9.20 p.m.  Then Bhoga started at 9.25 p.m. and was over by 9.42 p.m.  The bhajans continued during the bhoga also.   This time there was no havan performed.   At 9.45 p.m. arati started  and ended at 9.45 p.m. after the devotees uttered ‘jai’ to Sri Sri Kali Ma, Bhagawan Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother and Swamiji. Afterwards all the 400 devotees offered pranams to the Holy Tinity and they were all served with prasad in paper plates each consisting of 4 pieces of puri and subzi, cut fruits and a sweet (imarti).   About 100 devotees including volunteers and monks took prasad in the kitchen.
Thus the Phalaharini  Kali Puja went off successfully.
