The Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, celebrated Christmas Eve in the Temple on Tuesday, 24th December 2019 in a solemn and befitting manner.

On this day, the Temple was tastefully decorated and photos of Baby Jesus Christ in the arms of Mother Mary, and also of Lord Jesus, were adorned with Christmas festoons, balloons, garlands and flowers, and offerings were kept on the left side of the Temple hall, as it was considered to be a very special day for the Ramakrishna Mission. On this happy occasion, as usual, three prominent Christian Fathers viz. Archbishop of Delhi Rev. Fr. Anil Joseph Thomas Couto, Dr. M.D.Thomas and Rev. Fr. Felix Jones were invited to participate in this function. Rabbi Ezekiel Malekar of the Jewish Synagogue was invited to deliver the Vote of thanks.

After lighting of candles and making offering to Lord Jesus, carol songs – “Silent Night, Holy Night…”, “Oh come all ye Faithful…”, “Hark the Herald Angel Sing……”, and “Joy to the World…” were sung by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji (Manabendra Maharaj). Then Revered Secretary Maharaj extended a warm welcome to all those assembled in the Temple and briefly talked about the significance of celebrating Christmas Eve in all Ramakrishna Missions the world over. Maharaj also read a few passages from “The New Testament”.

This was followed by each of the speakers addressing the audience and highlighting the message of peace and harmony of Jesus Christ.

Before their leaving, Reverend Fathers were given sweet Prasad packets.
