The Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, celebrated the 167th Janmatithi Puja of Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi on Wednesday, the 18th December 2019 in the Mission premises. The Holy Mother’s Birthday is a very significant day for all devotees of Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji.

Anticipating many devotees on this day, all arrangements were made to celebrate this important event in the best possible way.

The day began with Mangalarati and Vedic Chanting in the Temple at 5.00 a.m. followed by Sarada Suprabhatam and reading from ‘Sarada Devi ki Vani’.

A pandal was erected on the lawn in front of the Temple with a giant LED screen set up so that all those devotees who could not find place in the Temple can watch puja.

The Puja in the Temple was performed by Swami Amritamayanandaji Maharaj. Simultaneously Chandi Path was done by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj at the Shayan Ghar of Sri Sri Thakur and Ma in the Temple. During the course of the Puja devotional songs were rendered by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj and Shri Champak Chatterjee accompanied by Shri Siddhartha Bhattacharya on tabla. Later, Revered Secretary Maharaj also rendered a few devotional songs. The Temple was full, rather overcrowded. Even the upstairs portion of the temple reserved for lady devotees was also full.

Pushpanjali to Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji was administered by Revered Secretary Maharaj.

After Pushpanjali and during the bhoga when the sanctum sanctorum was closed, Revered Secretary Maharaj spoke about Holy Mother.

After Arati the devotees in the temple, and those waiting outside, offered pranams to Sri Sri Thakur, Ma and Swamiji. They were served Havan Tilak and Charanamrit outside on the lawns. After arati, as so many devotees were to offer pranams.

All the devotees offered pranams to the Holy Trinity and partook of the cooked Prasad.
