Sri Sri Durga Puja was celebrated with solemnity at Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi. The day started with Mangalarati to Sri Ramakrishna at 5 am, followed by Vedic chanting and other hymns. Sri Sri Durga Saptashati (Chandi) was chanted by Swami Shantatmanandaji in the morning. Many devotees joined in the same.
Special puja of Sri Ramakrishna and Sri Sri Durga followed this. Devotional singing of various bhajans and stotras on Sri Sri Durga marked the occasion. A special Homa was also performed. Bhog-arati to the singing of the Mahishasuramardhini Stotra followed. A quiet hour of meditation during the Sandhi between Ashtami and Navami was observed. All the assembled devotees later gathered to take Prasad. Nearly 1100 took prasad and many partook of Kichuri prasad distribution till mid-noon.
