On the auspicious occasion of the National Youth Day synchronizing with the 158th Birthday of the Patriot-Saint of modern India, Swami Vivekananda, as well as to commemorate the 127th year of his Chicago address at the Parliament of Religions, a day-long Music Festival was jointly organized by Sangeet Natak Academi, Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) and Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi, on the 12th January 2020 in the Vivekananda Auditorium in which Begum Parween Sultana, Pt. Swami Vivekananda, apart from being a national patriot and awakener of modern India, who preached unity of all religions and universal brotherhood, was also a great musician, who not only sang exceedingly well but had also mastered a few musical instruments. Begum Parveen Sultana is an Indian Hindustani classical singer of the Patiala Gharana. She was awarded the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan by the Government of India, and the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, 1998, given by Sangeet Natak Akademi, India’s National Academy of Music, Dance and Drama.

In the afternoon, Indian flutist Pt. Rakesh Chaurasia, who plays the bansuri accompanied by Abhijit Banerjee on the Tabla.

The program concluded with the Hindustani Vocal by Dr. Ashwini Bhide-Deshpande, accompanied by Vinay Mishra on the Harmonium and Abhijit Banerjee on the Tabla.
