Special Kali Puja in image was celebrated in a grand manner at the Ramakrishna Mission, New Delhi on Dipanwita Amavasya, i.e., on the night of 5th November 2010 (Friday).    The image of Mother Kali was brought to the Temple a day earlier and installed in the Nat Mandir.  The blue image of the Mother with flowing black hair and golden ornaments was awe-inspiring.   Special decorators were arranged to give a new look to the temple.   The Garbha Mandir was also tastefully decorated  with flowers on the walls.  Sri Thakur was adorned with a new yellow cloth and Holy Mother with deep red coloured sari.   Swamiji too was covered with a new gerua silk cloth.

The Special Puja of Mother Kali started at 8.40 p.m. in the evening after the regular arati.   Swami Shantatmanandaji himself took the responsibility of being the Pujari and Swami Amritapurnanandaji (Sameeran Maharaj) served as the Tantradharak.   Kali kirtans were sung by Binapani Samiti, Salkia, and Shri Deenabandhu Chattopadhyaya, Howrah, and shri Chandi Das Mal accompanied by Shri Ashok Brahmachari on Tabla till Puja was over. The Puja was completed by 2.35 a.m. in the morning of 6th November 2010.   Chandi Path was done by Swami Gunashrayanandaji.   After this, bhoga was offered from 2.42 a.m. to 3.00 a.m.  The Mangalarati of Sri Sri Thakur was done at 3.02 a.m. and after that bhogarati was done by revered secretary Maharaj.  This was followed  by Pushpanjali at 3.20 a.m.   Havan was done from 3.30 a.m.to 4.31 a.m.

After completion of Puja, Prasad distribution started at 5.00 a.m. on 6th November, 2010.  It consisted of bhog prasad, Kichuri, Alurdham, fruits and sweets and it was distributed to about 150 devotees.   Monastic members and volunteers took prasad at 6.00 a.m.

For the immersion ceremony, the image of Mother Kali was slowly moved out at about 9.30 a.m.  It was kept at the entrance of the Nat Mandir facing the image of Thakur and then the final arati was conducted by Swami Tattwatitanandaji Maharaj (Manavendra Maharaj).   All sadhus, brahmacharins and devotees bowed to Mother Kali and bade Her good-bye with the loud rendering of ‘Kali Mayee ki Jai’.  Then the image was taken in a big truck with volunteers and some guests and  accompanied by Swami Bhaktirasanandaji, Swami Gunashrayanandaji, Swami Sunirmalanandaji, Br. Prasanjit Maharaj in a separate vehicle.   The image was taken to the Ganges at Gadmukteswar for immersion and after immersion the party returned at about 4.30 p.m. in the evening.
The regular volunteers of the Ashrama worked hard in connection with arrangements for the success of the Puja.
