Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi conducted a three day State Level Youth Convention – ‘Awakening the Youth Power‘ from 18 – 20 October 2013.
During at the Valedictory Session on the third day (20 Oct 2013) of the Youth Convention, E. Sreedharan, the former Managing Director of Delhi Metro (DMRC), spoke to the participants.
E. Sreedharan is a civil engineer par excellence, famous for his work on the Konkan Railway, the Pamban Bridge connecting Rameshwaram with Tamil Nadu, the planning and design of Calcutta Metro, and the phenomenal success of the Delhi Metro. He has been honored with the Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awards. He was also awarded the Man of the Year by the Times of India in 2002 and was named as one of Asia’s Heroes by the TIME magazine in 2003. He is recipient of the Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur (Knight of the Legion of Honor) awarded by the Government of France in 2005.
