We are glad to invite you to our next programme in the Awakening India initiative, to be held on Sunday, 23rd October 2011, at 6 pm in the Vivekananda Auditorium of the Ashrama. Shri Ajay Maken, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Youth Affairs and Sports and Smt. Krishna Tirath, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Women and Child Development, have kindly accepted to grace the occasion as special guests, which will be presided over by Revered Swami Vishwatmanandaji Maharaj, Belur Math.
We conduct many programmes on Value Education in various educational institutions. To convey these ideas more powerfully, we are producing animation films based on some of the stirring messages of Swami Vivkenanda. The first set of five animations, produced by Tata Interactive Systems, will be released by Shri Ajay Maken.
In order to encourage NGOs who are serving the poor and downtrodden in different parts of the country, especially in rural and tribal areas, we have initiated the ‘Swami Vivekananda Awards’ under our ‘Inspired by Swami Vivekananda’ series. In the above function, four such NGOs, selected by our expert committee out of a large number of applicants, will be given a cash award of Rs. 1,00,000 each, and a citation by Smt. Krishna Tirath.
