Every year we conduct a special Narayana Seva in the month of December in which we distribute blankets, food packets, etc. to Daridra Narayanas. After conducting this relief for a few years, we found that it was very difficult to determine truly the needy persons. It came to our knowledge that a number of persons sold away the blankets immediately after leaving our premises. So we tried a new type of Narayan Sewa this year in which we proposed to serve 200 poor and needy children. The recipients were clearly identified and their backgrounds checked so as to ensure that only the deserving got the benefit of our Narayan Sewa which was organized in the Mission premises on 25th December 2019.

For this purpose, it was decided to serve young Narayanas each with a school bag with a picture of Swami Vivekananda and a small quotation printed, a small flask to serve as a water bottle, a small timepiece to help them get up in time in the morning, and some notebooks and pen/pencils. The children were also given cooked food. They also got the chance to watch 3D movie on Swami Vivekananda in the permanent exhibition including other exhibits.

On the whole, the Narayana Seva went off very successfully in a disciplined manner.
