Sri Krishna Janmashtami was celebrated at the Ramakrishna Misson, New Delhi, on Saturday, the 24th August, 2019. The main feature of the celebration of Sri Krishna Janmashtami besides the special puja, was the chanting of all the 18 Chapters of Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the Temple. The entire chanting was done by the devotees in chorus led by Revered Secretary Maharaj along with other monastics of the Ashrama.

After the Evening Arati, Special Puja was performed by Swami Amritamayananda (Swarupananda Maharaj) and assisted by a few volunteers. During the puja, Devotional songs were rendered by Revered Secretary Maharaj, Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj, Shri Champak Chatterjee and Shri Chandranath Mukherjee accompanied by Shri Siddharth Bhattacharya on tabla.

Bhogarati was performed with the singing of “Jai jagadeesha hare ….” in chorus led by Swami Dhruvarupanandaji Maharaj.

The devotees offered pranams to all deities and partook of the cooked Prasad at the end of the festivities.
