In Ramakrishna Mission, cleanliness is one of the striking features. This practice is not new for people associated with the organisation. Nevertheless, as per the request of the Government of India, The Mission has taken up this project showing support to the vision of a clean India by 2019.
Cleaning is not a one-day programme. It is a habit that must stay all life. Both individually and socially. All-round education is vital in childhood. Cleanliness is one among the important aspects a child must be encouraged to practice. The Gadadhar Abhyudaya Prakalpa teachers and students have decided to show their solidarity with the nation-wide movement. This is what resulted. It was more like a celebration.
”Child is the father of man”. Some members of the public were inspired by the children and participated with us. We distributed School bags, lunch boxes etc just earlier, so some children didn’t want to part with their kits even temporarily and were carrying on their bags while cleaning.
In the second set of pictures below, monks and devotees after the Ashtami celebrations, decided to clean the roads around the Ashram.
