Guru Purnima is traditionally celebrated on the full moon day of Ashada (Ashada Purnima). It has been a day on which teachers are worshipped respectfully all over the nation. In the Ramakrishna tradition, this day is celebrated in all the centres with a special worship of Sri Ramakrishna. Devotional singing of Stotras, bhajans and hymns in honour of the Guru, special Homa and short discourses mark the occasion.
We celebrated Guru Purnima at the Mission on 31 July 2015. Swami Shantatmanandaji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission, Delhi, spoke on the significance of Guru Purnima on this occasion.
